Madhur Bhandarkar, the famous Indian film director, producer and
scriptwriter is gearing for the sequel of his earlier 2008 blockbuster
release Fashion. Bhandarkar is very well versed and
obsessed(positive manner) highlighting the social issues for an
impactful message for the mass.
There were some rumours in the past as well for the sequel but it
become more obvious when recently Taran Adarsh, the famous Indian critic
and Film trade analyst posted
Madhur Bhandarkar is a highly acclaimed director for posting the most
intriguing social issues, those that were left aloof or ignored due to
negligence. Bhandarkar won the National Film Award for Best Film on Social Issues with his 2001 release Chandni Bar
and after that has been no looking back for him. Chandni Bar depicted
the brazen life of the Mumbai underworld, including prostitution, dance
bars and mafia. Bhandarkar was also awarded for movies like Page 3 and Traffic Signal for Film and direction. His other films include Heroine, Corporate, Fashion and many more.
Fashion was released in 2008, featuring Priyanka Chopra in the lead role as Meghna Mathur, an aspiring fashion model who leaves her small-town to be a supermodel, and the price she paid to be the one. The film also starred Kangana Ranaut, Mugdha Godse, Arjan Bajwa and Arbaaz Khan in supporting roles. The cast also features several professional fashion models playing themselves. Earlier rumours stated that Deepika Padukone might replace Priyanka Chopra in Fashion 2 but it’s evident that the star cast is yet to be finalised
