The trailer of Saala Khadoos, R Madhavan's upcoming film, has been
released. The film deals with the life of a 'banished boxing coach', who
tries and lives his dream of a 'knockout' through an 'arrogant
fisherwoman', at least that's what the trailer reveals.
The
trailer provides a peek into the world of the 'Khadoos' boxing coach,
played by Madhavan and his even more 'khadoos' student, played by Ritika
Singh. Apart from Madhavan and Singh, the film also stars magician PC
Sorcar's daughter Mumtaz Sorcar.
Saala
Khadoos, written and directed by Sudha Kongara Prasad, is a bilingual.
It brings boxing as a game back in the limelight, after last year's Mary
Kom was lapped up by both the critics and the audiences.
While Omung Kumar's Mary Kom biopic with Priyanka Chopra
had struck a chord with viewers in 2014, 2016 seems to belong to
Madhavan - at least as far as sports films are concerned. The trailer of
Saala Khadoos has those moments which will give one goosebumps.
Madhavan's banishment as a coach, his subsequent attempt at living his
dreams through a student, does remind one of Shah Rukh Khan's iconic 2007 film Chak De India.
It
remains to be seen whether or not Madhavan is able to recreate the
magic that Shah Rukh had done with Chak De India or Priyanka had done
with Mary Kom. Saala Khadoos is slated for a January 29, 2016 release.
Earlier on Tuesday (December 15), Madhavan had taken to Twitter to reveal the first look of the film too:
